Our IRATA (Industrial Rope Access Trade Association) training courses are held in our top-class venue located at Darlington, County Durham – which is the largest indoor training venue in the Northeast of England for Rope Access and Working at Height Training. Additionally, the venue has been purpose-built to simulate an oil and gas module to help the participants feel more comfortable and suited to their own working environments.
The level 3 instructors conducting the IRATA Rope Access Level 1, 2, and 3 training courses have over 30 years combined experience working within the industry and are both experts in their own individual fields. Within these courses, you’ll work on the skills needed for certification to become either a Level 1, Level 2, or Level 3 rope access technician. Our instructors are very welcoming, friendly, and professional to make people who are new to the industry feel comfortable and safe when undertaking their course.
If you haven’t been on the ropes for a while, our refresher training course is great to get reacquainted with your rope access skills. Below, we’ve outlined the different course levels, what they include, and their requirements. All our training courses require participants to be 18 years of age or older, submit a signed “Statement of Medical Condition,” and meet IRATA requirements.
IRATA Rope Access training provides technicians with the skills and knowledge required to work at height where ropes are needed to gain access to and from the work position and remain in suspension.
Level 1 is the entry requirement course for technicians wanting to pursue a career in rope access. The course is 4 to 5 days training followed by 1 day of assessment. Level 2 is an intermediate-level training course for trainees who want to develop their rope access career further and be on their way to becoming an IRATA Level 3. Hightech Industrial Access cannot stress the importance of maintaining your logbook and keeping it in a good working order. In accordance with the IRATA logbook policy as set out in the ‘Training Assessment and Certification Scheme’, technicians are responsible for the correctness, accuracy and completeness of all entries recorded in their IRATA logbooks. Non-compliance with these requirements will likely result in a sanction from IRATA.
Please maintain logbooks properly. The IRATA Logbook is an important document that is relied upon throughout industry. Guidance on how to correctly complete logbooks can be found on the IRATA Website. If ever in doubt, please contact IRATA for further clarification.
An IRATA Level 3 is the qualification you require to work as a Rope Access Supervisor. They are experienced rope access Technicians who are responsible for setting up and managing the rope access worksite. They are also responsible of understanding, and implementing the rope access procedures, along with being able to write and follow method statements, risk assessments and rescue plans.
